Retreat FAQ

1.  Who are you?

We are made up of adoptive moms, foster moms, biological moms and other female caregivers who parent kids who have experienced early trauma and have attachment resistance.

2.  When is the yearly retreat?

The dates for the 2023 Orlando retreat are Feb 24 – Feb 27, 2023.   Transportation will be arranged for you on Friday and Monday at MCO. You may, of course, fly in or out on different days, or utilize a different airport, but we will ONLY provide transportation to and from MCO on February 24 and February 27.

3.  Where will I be staying?

We meet  in Orlando, FL (Davenport, technically) at Champions Gate.  We rent a number of villas which we fill with 8-16 women so that each group has the opportunity to form small group support networks.  Each villa has a variety of room types available at a variety of prices in an effort to make our retreat as attainable as possible.   

4.  When is registration?

Registration begins each summer. A link for registration will be posted in our Facebook groups as well as our main Facebook page. Your deposit of $150 for the retreat needs to be paid via PayPal when you register. Information for payment address will be included in the registration forms.

5.  What is the cost of lodging?

2023 costs:

King : $480 (shared King $380 per participant)

Queen : $470 (shared Queen is $370 per participant)

Full : $425

Twin : $375

Some homes have reconfigured their rooms, many rooms are shared with other beds, and some have both twin and full bunks.

NONREFUNDABLE $150 deposit is necessary at registration and the remaining balance is due November 1, 2022.

6.  What other costs are there?

Your retreat fee covers food, ground transportation, t-shirt and other miscellaneous expenses for the weekend.  Massages and possibly other options are available to you at an additional price, that information will be spelled out in the retreat group on Facebook if you choose to partake in those options.

7. Are there scholarships?

We hope to make scholarships  available as funds are donated.  We also do an auction each year to secure funding for scholarships as well. Directed donations are accepted for a particular attendee as well.

8. Food is included and will look something like this:

Friday lunch

A selection of easy to grab foods in the Main villa. Ham and cheese sliders, veggie tray, chips, dip, candies, fruit etc

Variety of soda, water

Breakfasts (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) in your home villa

Eggs, Yogurt, Sausages, cheese, bread, bagels, philly

Coffee, Milk

Lunches (Saturday and Sunday) in your home villa

Sandwiches: Deli meats (turkey, ham, chicken), cheese, tomato lettuce, pickles, buns, bread, gluten free bread if requested. Mayo, ketchup, mustard.

Salad: lettuce mix, cheese, bacon bits, tomatoes, dressings.

Chips, cookies

Soda, water.

There is a restaurant where you can purchase additional meals in the community Clubhouse. You are also welcome to purchase food for the weekend and store it in your villa with limited space.
